As a plant ecophysiologist my main research interest is how plants overcome challenging environmental conditions. Currently I am involved in projects investigating the optimisation of whole-plant nitrogen use in wheat, the dynamics of water transport in native Australian Eucalypts, and the responses of stomatal pores to dynamic changes in humidity. In my PhD my research focussed on the strategies used by Australian plants (native and horticultural) to survive intense solar radiation and limited supply of phosphorus.
